Formed from the ashes of the 1968 riots following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Change All Souls Housing Corporation (CASHC) has promoted affordable housing in the Columbia Heights neighborhood and beyond for over 45 years.
The Columbia Heights neighborhood remains a major focus of our work, but we also support other D.C. communities affected by gentrification, where rising costs make it difficult for residents earning well below D.C.’s Area Median Income to remain housed.

Our Mission + Vision

Our vision is for Columbia Heights and other D.C. neighborhoods to be diverse, inclusive communities where people of different socioeconomic backgrounds can live, work, learn, and participate in neighborhood life.
Our mission is to promote strong and diverse communities through stewardship of quality, affordable housing, and supportive services. We strive to empower low- and moderate-income residents in D.C.’s Columbia Heights neighborhood and beyond as they seek self-sufficiency.
